Hello Everyone! After two eclipses this month in January I can safely report that my energy is finally ready for take off for 2019.
I know many of you are struggling with making changes for the new year and don’t even bother to do any new year resolutions. Well here is some good news! These new years resolution recommendations are easy and anyone can do them effortlessly and will surely help you in a big or small way to move forward in 2019 with power, organization, health, and mindfulness.
1. Make your bed everyday.
I don’t know about you but organization is my downfall. I am a pack rat and I drown in clutter in my room, my car and in my office. My environment suffered and you guessed it, so did my productivity. Making your bed every morning can help you take baby steps to hacking your environment for less stress, more relaxation and organization. Making your bed everyday will help you start your day with success and end your night with success. This will help you become more conscious and aware of your surroundings and your environment. Your reality and your environment is an extension of what is going on in your mind, so a cluttered environment is a cluttered mind which is doomed for stress, anxiety and fatigue. Here are a few tips to making your bed everyday. Never leave any paperwork, books, electronics, clothes or towels on your bed. Keep your bed as simple as possible. Use sheets and bedding that are plain, soft and simple. Pick designs and colors that will encourage sleep and rest. This will help you embody the daily practice of making your bed effortless and less stressful. Clear out any objects or shoes, miscellaneous items from under the bed as this will affect the overall energy between you and your bed. I do recommend some relaxing crystals you can place as a grid under bed only. Healing Crystal Grids can protect your energy as you sleep and increase your manifesting powers. Its always good to wash your sheets at least a few times a month to maintain the freshness of your bed. This resolution will help you sleep more soundly, deeply and consistently. A solid 7-8 hours of sleep is recommended for optimal energy, focus, healing and so much more.
2. Meditate for at least 10 minutes everyday.
Meditation has gone mainstream for a long time now as stress, anxiety and depression has been on an all time high. Meditation is a very simple practice that helps you relax your cognitive, mental, emotional, and psychological muscles giving them relief. Meditation also quiets the mental chatter that goes on in the mind and helps you let go of worry, stress and a nagging ego that won’t let you focus on what truly matters. Meditation although is easy to do it is also easy not to do. Meditation is a practice that many successful people practice everyday. Practicing meditation everyday has many benefits that can improve your life physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Meditation helps one reach a state of zen, safety and relaxation. People can transform and heal the body and lower blood pressure due to stress just by breathing deeply, slowly and meditating quietly for a few moments everyday.
How to meditate?
The first step is to harness your breath and allow your body to do its magic by consciously breathing. Breathing in and out. Receiving your breath deeply, slowly and softly. Your breath is your body’s natural built in stress reducer so when its time to slow down and take a break you can reach a meditative state of relaxation, bliss and zen anytime, anywhere just by breathing.
You can create an oasis or a relaxing environment to help develop your meditation practice even further. I love meditating with crystals and I usually place an amethyst crystal on my forehead and while listening to relaxing music, I allow the healing sounds to quiet my mind and body. And the healing properties of the crystals to flow through my senses. I usually like to meditate with solfeggio frequency sounds like 528 hertz, because it is the frequency of love and the tone of the music is very healing. You can find many tracks for free on youtube. (Meditative Mind is one of my favorite channels on youtube for relaxation and is the perfect music to enhance and deepen your meditation experience)
I recommend adding some aromatherapy to your meditation experience by using an essential oil diffuser. I love almost every single essential oil but the best ones for relaxing to relieve yourself of anxiety and stress is lavender, frankincense, and rose. I love also saging, burning palo santo or incense to cleanse my aura or my office, bedroom, home, car to prep me for meditation. Sometimes your environment alone will prevent you from having a productive meditation session. So cleansing the space can be very beneficial.
You can try guided meditation. Guided meditation has helped me so much in the last two months. I especially love Bob Baker’s youtube channel for quick 10 minute guided meditations. These are perfect for people who commute a lot, who don’t have a lot of time on their hands, and need some guidance to get there mind in the right state fast.
As a Reiki Master Teacher and Empowerment Life Coach, I always meditate with my clients during sessions and will almost always recommend meditating everyday for at least 10 minutes to reduce stress and anxiety naturally. Another way to meditate easily and effortlessly is to meditate while in the shower. Hydrotherapy can be done in the shower in conjunction with meditation. I usually practice guided imagery and visualization to help enrich my aura and energy field and wash away all tension and stress down the drain. This is especially beneficial in the evening for those who have sleeping issues. The perfect recipe for a good night of sleep is a warm shower, shower meditation and visualization for at least 10 minutes imagining the warm water as a healing water fall washing away all stress, worry, fear and anxiety until you are free from these and are completely calm. I highly recommend taking some magnesium before the shower also as this will enhance your meditation experience by calming your nerves and will help you fall asleep like a baby if insomnia and worry keeps you up at night. Based on healthline.com men should take 400-420 mg of magnesium daily and women should take 310-320 mg daily, if pregnant increase the dose a bit more and consult with your doctor. Just by adding magnesium into your diet, practicing meditation and sleeping in a fresh bed your life and energy levels will improve significantly.
3. Make Intermittent Fasting a lifestyle.
I have been struggling with my weight for the last 4-5 years and have finally found a practice that has helped me lose a few pounds and optimize my energy for longevity, anti-aging and wellness. Intermittent fasting has helped me increase my metabolism, improve my digestion and helped me burn fat by reaching ketosis while I sleep and or a certain hours throughout my day. Intermittent fasting has helped me eat less and consume higher quality food. Intermittent fasting as help me save money also since I’m eating less. Instead 0f consuming three meals a day, I consume only two times a day, eating what I want, enjoying my food and staying healthy. There are many ways of doing intermittent fasting. 90% of week I do the 16/8 intermittent fasting method, which means I fast for 16 plus hours, which includes sleep hours and consume foods in an 8 hour or less period.
How I intermittent fast:
I usually don’t eat any breakfast in the morning and will have only my fluids in the morning. I like to have decaf coffee with some non dairy creamer, collagen powder, and sprinkle some cinnamon. I like to drink some water right when I wake up also since the body is very dehydrated in the morning. I also like to drink a spicy warm lemonade, which is the juice of a lemon, warm water, honey (sometimes) and cayenne pepper and cinnamon sprinkled on top. . Drinking warm spicy lemonade has helped me with digestion issues, its very detoxifying and also helps maintain the acid levels in my stomach for healthy digestion and overall wellness.
Around 11 or so I like to eat a hearty meal usually some eggs, avocado, veggies and fiber. I usually cook my eggs with coconut oil for extra healthy fats and sauteed, grill, steamed cruciferous vegetables for vitamins, minerals and fiber. This is my first meal of the day and I like to enjoy it, and I like to make sure I eat well. After my meal I’ll have my supplements which is a whole other blog post. Then throughout the day I’ll drink herbal teas with cinnamon and stay hydrated with lots of water. Adding cinnamon to your teas and coffees helps you stay fuller longer and can help reverse prediabetic or diabetic symptoms.
Water is key for intermittent fasting.
Then by 6pm or 7pm I like to have my last meal. Its usually a balanced hearty meal with brown rice, protein, salad and veggies.
Pretty easy right? Just two good meals a day. Intermittent fasting helps me burn fat while I sleep. Intermittent fasting helps my body heal. Every hour of intermittent fasting is also known as your body’s healing hours. You cannot heal the body if the body is tiring itself out digesting, balancing the overload of carbs, sugar and processed foods. That is why many people struggle to lose weight and feel drained throughout their day because the body is using too much energy just trying to keep up and burn off excess food consumed all day. You get to create a win/win situation in 2019 by intermittent fasting at least 6 days a week. You will save money, lose weight, save time, have more energy and look great.
4. Read a book every week or every month.
Reading is one of the most empowering practices that will fill your mind and soul of knowledge, information and wisdom. This is another successful habit. Warren Buffet reads about 500-1000 pages a day. The average CEO reads about 4-5 books per month. Bill Gates reads about 50 books each year which equals to about a book a week. And the average millionaire reads about 2 or more books per month. Do you notice the pattern here? And did you know the average person reads 0nly 2-3 books per year? Do youself a favor and pick up a book, start reading and don’t settle being average every again.
Reading books is another way of enriching the mind and sharing intelligent conversations with the experts and authorities in specific industries and fields. Reading helps exercise your learning ability. Reading also helps increase your memory and improve cognitive function.
I have never been formally educated. Everything I know now has been self taught with the exception of some awesome training I did to further my career as a life coach, reiki master teacher and wellness expert. I am totally for fancy degrees and have only love and support for friends and family all over the world that encourage institutionalized education. But it was never for me. The year before I decided to become an entrepreneur I had read over 80 books in a year. It was the best thing I had ever done in my life. I was influenced by a man named, Tony Robbins, who is the number life coach in the world and has helped millions of people improve their lives. He also had read about 300 books in a year to fill his mind with knowledge and expertise on various topics like health, personal development, spirituality, psychology, human behavior and so on before he became the worlds number one life strategist. He did himself the biggest favor of helping himself become the best life coach in the world because he never stopped learning and never stopped reading.
Technology has made reading even easier these days as one can easily create libraries of awesome books available on your smart phone. You can read traditionally and read a hard copy book, reading a chapter each day in the morning when the mind is fresh and ready to receive and absorb valuable information or read in the evening to make winding down productive and informative. You can really increase the pace and volume of your reading by listening to some audio books. Audible.com is an awesome website that has hundreds of thousands of audio books available for purchase and membership pricing is also available. Audio books are perfect for people who love multitasking like driving and reading at the same time, exercising and reading at the same time or cooking and reading at the same time. Youtube.com is a great resource for free audio books, sometimes commercials can be a bit annoying and distracting however, listening to audio books on youtube can really help you increase the load on making reading a resolution that you will never break.
Since everyone is always on their smartphones I am a big fan of the kindle app and the iphone books app. I love these apps as they are like hand held little libraries conveniently available through a swipe and a tap. I prefer reading on my iphone on the go especially because it helps me bring all the books I want to read without worrying about misplacing a book or forgetting to bring my book with me because its all stored in my phone. And literally everyone has their phone in their hand with them at all times. You can cut down on wasting time swiping and scrolling on social media and make time on your phone more productive. I do recommend on switching the light on your phone to night mode so the blue light doesn’t affect your circadian rhythms and keep you up all night from reading on your phone’s screen. You can do this by going on your settings and adjusting the light to night mode and have it switch automatically every night so reading doesn’t affect your sleep and your body’s natural biological schedule.
5. Give 10% Back
Giving your 10% back to your community, church, friends, family and people and charity causes in need will help you become more abundant and prosperous in 2019 and beyond. Giving back and not worrying about where it will go and how your resources will be used is none of your business.
Giving 10% and practicing some sort of tithing ritual helps you more than helping the cause itself. Its about developing the giver in you. Money, finances and prosperity is a spiritual issue. Giving 10% back in either time, energy or resources (money) helps cultivate a culture of decreasing greed and increasing generosity and cheerfulness. The saying, ‘it is better to give than to receive’ is so true because it empowers the givers and allows him or her to come from a place of abundance versus a place of lack, limitation and scarcity. Giving 10% helps you learn how to live on less. Giving 10% helps increase your manifesting powers by helping you expand and develop your character, and becoming a leader in a world by serving and contributing. Giving naturally raises your vibration therefore will allow the law of attraction to effortlessly work in your favor as you regularly give you can regularly receive more and more.
Giving 10% will prepare you for wealth as well. Many wealthy people are the best givers for a reason. Its because they practice the sacred ritual of tithing. Did you know only 5% Americans practice giving 10% back? And did you know that the world’s wealth also belongs to only 5% of the population? This is not a coincidence. Giving back is a powerful resolution to keep and develop and you should start now, because it will be easier to give 10% away at a humble annual salary of $10,000 which is $1,000 a year or $83 a month versus giving away $100k with an annual income of a million dollars. Start now while its easier. Sadly, $10,000 a year is the average income of the world’s population. We should all live in abundance and we can all live that way by practicing this principle.
So I invite you to give your precious 10% back and watch your wealth and prosperity transform. Let this be a life long resolution of giving.
